Cross-country skiing Dolomites

Val Gardena is a magic place for cross country ski lovers.

Alpe di Siusi, just above Ortisei, is the biggest plateau in Europe. Its altitude between 1.800 and 2.o00 mts (5.900 ft -6.560 ft) guarantees perfect snow conditions for 80 kms of daily groomed runs for all levels of classic and skating technique, beginners or professional athletes.

From Residence Villa Aquila-Adler, you just need to walk up the pedestrian street, cross the bridge and after 8 minutes of cable car you will reach a hut with a terrace. The view is amazing. Sassolungo (long stone), Sassopiatto (flat stone) and Sciliar – breathtaking! You will understand why the Dolomites are part of UNESCO Human Heritage. In the ski school hut you can find a storage and rental. To reach the cross country rings, if you are not expert, you can use a chairlift downhill.

Various huts along the trails invite you to take an enjoyable rest, in a cozy atomsphere and taste traditional recipes.

Curvy hills, encourage you to visit the most remote areas of Alpe di Siusi snowshoeing or walking along the trails. Romantic horse drawn sleds can be an appealing alternative.

Some chairlifts allow you to carry your sled uphill and fly down the runs reserved for this sport.

For biathlon fans the nearby ring of Monte Pana offers the chance to refine your skills in the open air shooting range.

Open air, forests and white peaks full of fluffy snow, the majesty of the Dolomites around you: discover a true paradise for cross country lovers.
